Shingles Cures

 - by admin

If you find yourself suffering from shingles, or adult chicken pox, as the disease is often known, you’re probably suffering from pain, itching, fever, and other symptoms. This means you’re probably searching everywhere for a shingles cure. Well, you’re in for some bad news: just like chicken pox, there is no shingles cure.

There are, however, several different treatments and medications you can use to shorten the illness and help relieve the pain, itching, and other symptoms. These include antiviral medications that reduce the duration of the illness, some topical creams to relieve the itching and pain, and some pain medications to reduce the fever.

Your doctor should prescribe some antiviral medication once he or she diagnoses you with shingles. Starting on this medication within the first couple of days of seeing shingles will lower your chances of any complications. It’s very important to treat shingles as soon as possible because if you don’t, the illness can become more serious. The more serious it gets, the more shingles is resistant to treatments. You should take your antiviral medication in conjunction with over the counter pain relievers, corticosteroids, and topical creams. Using all four medications will greatly help reduce the symptoms of shingles.

These initial forms of treatment should be enough to get rid of the infection. However, if you continue to experience pain for a month or so after the rash has gone, you may have postherpetic neuralgia. It can actually result in pain for years, and it affects between ten and fifteen percent of everyone who has shingles. Again, there is no cure for postherpetic neuralgia, but there are treatments, including antidepressant medication, topical creams, anticonvulsant medication, and pain killers like codeine.

If your shingles complications get even worse, your doctor may have to perform surgery or may prescribe more powerful antibiotics and antiviral medication depending on the symptoms.

Are you getting enough?

It’s quite strange that something we all do every day of our lives should be so poorly understood. Yet, without so much as a word of explanation, we all fall unconscious for several hours and, when we recover, we usually feel better for this experience. This is called sleep and, despite all their best efforts, scientists have not managed to convert theories into reliable proofs. All they can say is that, without sleep, our bodies begin to fail physically, becoming more prone to diseases as our auto immune system shuts down, and there can be severe psychological disruption – torturers around the world have been using sleep deprivation for centuries. We all know the feeling of getting out of bed after a disturbed night. It has all the features of a hangover without the benefits of the night before. We walk around like the living dead, finding concentration a problem with a headache threatening. . . and some men report erectile dysfunction.

Well, the trouble with these reports is that, in scientific terms, they are anecdotal, i.e. it’s just like the stuff men say when stopped in the street for a quick questionnaire. There’s very little scientific evidence to link sleep deprivation to erectile dysfunction. Until now, that is. Early this May, there was a conference in Washington where a team reported new evidence that men with sleep apnea are twice as likely to suffer erectile dysfunction. This is a serious form of sleep disturbance where people literally stop breathing and have to partially wake to take the next breath. This research has moderate status, being a paper presented at an impressive conference. But it has yet to be published in a peer-reviewed journal. It has enough participants to be credible and, if the research can be validated, it would have real importance for those suffering erectile dysfunction.

Long-term sleep disturbance and excessive sleep patterns are both considered harmful to health – apparently sleeping too long can age your brain. It seems scientists are moving to a view there’s a sweet spot for every individual where you live longer and have a better quality of life if you sleep just enough and no more. So if you have erectile dysfunction and your sleep is disturbed, you should take action (which may include doing something to reduce your partner’s heaving snoring). Start by cutting down alcohol, coffee or any other drink with a stimulant in it. The evidence shows caffeine can be active in your system for up to eight hours. If you have to wake to empty your bladder, this is adding to the problem. Learn some relaxation techniques to reduce the stress in your life – physical exercise may help you relax, and also tire you out. Finally change your bedroom around to keep it dark, quiet and at a comfortable temperature.

Levitra can restore your sexual activity even when you are tired so long as your libido remains strong. Remember, no drug can give you an erection unless you are in the mood for sex. So try not to rely on Levitra. The best answer is establishing a better sleep routine and using a drug only if natural sleep does not solve the problem.

Viagra and sportmen

 - by admin

The human race has proved remarkably ingenious over the years. Starting with the wheel, it has developed an incredible number of tools and devices for a range of activities no one would ever have dreamed possible when we were first climbing down from the trees and wandering out over the plains. Indeed, the only activity that has remained essentially unchanged is the speed we can generate when running or the distance we can cover on foot over time. Although there are no predators waiting to eat us on the playing fields, the opposing players on a football team sure like to hunt and dump each other with prejudice. We still depend on our speed and endurance to play hard and win.

Which does show the difference between amateur sport and the professionals who make large sums of money out of what they do or who are able to cash in on their fame through endorsement and other deals. Indeed, when millions of dollars may be riding on being able to compete at the top level of any sport, it’s hardly surprising there are people who look to enhance their performance. At first, these attempts were crude. Now there are clinics and laboratories that specialize in boosting performance. The legitimate places study biomechanics and teach athletes how to get the maximum amount of effort from their bodies. Psychology is also featuring heavily with trainers motivating their athletes to try harder. But there are also clinics that use chemistry to enhance performance. Most professional sport around the world has decided this is cheating and at both a national and international level, there are testing procedures to identify the guilty. If any are found, they are banned from the sport. This is coordinated by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and it maintains a list of banned substances and sets the tone for enforcement. Needless to say, the attorneys have come into their own, arguing cases where the drug may have been taken accidentally, e.g. as a food additive, or as part of a legitimate medication, e.g. for the treatment of asthma.

In the midst of all this, it’s now seriously suggested that the erectile dysfunction drugs should be added to the list of banned substances. It’s been known that some athletes have been using these drugs in training for some years. The reason is that Viagra and the other drugs allow the arteries to dilate. This improves the circulation of the blood around the body and, amongst other things, this improves the rate at which the muscles receive oxygen. In turn, the muscles can deliver more effort for longer without tiring. Formal research is now attempting to discover whether using Viagra during training or just before a game produces an unfair advantage. If the research proves the advantage, all three erectile dysfunction drugs will be banned. No doubt the attorneys are delighted by this possibility as they will be able to argue sex as a defense to sporting success. Lawyers do sometimes have a sense of humor. While everyone waits for WADA to make a final decision – supposedly due before the next Olympics – we can continue to watch the saga of Barry Bonds with his conviction for obstruction of justice a fairly clear indication he was using steroids to enhance his performance at baseball.

The fake herbals are back

Sometimes, paranoia is good for you. You can be just about to do something unwise or actively dangerous, and the suspicions kick in. What if? you ask yourself. And this hesitation saves you from making a mistake. So what’s the problem here? Well, some men are alarmed by all the stories going around the news media and the internet suggesting the online pharmacy industry is run by thieves who will take our money and fail to give us the drugs we need. As a note of explanation, ask yourself who owns many of the news media? Either the same corporations that also own pharmaceutical manufacturers, or the corporations that rely on all the advertising dollars spent by the manufacturers. So they have a direct interest in frightening you out of buying online. Remember, there are always one or two black sheep in every trade or industry. This does not make the whole industry suspect. All these scare stories are placed to protect the profits of Big Pharma. Anyway, some men seem not to draw the right lesson from these stories. They accept the lie that the online pharmacies, many of which are regulated by governments around the world, are unsafe. So they sign up to buy sex-enhancement remedies from random websites. This is not one of those out of the frying pan, into the fire decisions. This is abandoning a safe harbor to go for a swim with crocodiles. If the pharmacies, many of which have been trading for years, are criminal, what does that make the fly-by-nighters offering to turn you into stallion overnight? One of the less-well-advertised functions of the FDA is to police the market for supplements and non-pharmaceutical remedies. Although the manufacturers don’t have to get a license to sell their magic products, they do have to be truthful in what they claim for them. So, if the FDA finds misleading ads, they can order the ads removed and, in bad cases, the product pulled from the market. What then counts as the “bad” cases? Let’s say the manufacturer claims this herbal product will produce the most enhanced erection you have ever seen or felt. Making allowances for the usual exaggeration, the FDA might get suspicious if the business seemed to be growing. Although the placebo effect can persuade some men to produce erections, most herbal and “alternative” products don’t work. So repeat orders and good word-of-mouth would persuade the FDA to test samples. In the case of “ExtenZe”, the FDA found the herbs were supplemented by Cialis. It’s relatively easy to make your own product effective when you include the best of the erectile dysfunction drugs as a secret ingredient. Yet it’s this failure to warn men that makes this product so dangerous. When we buy a prescription-only drug, we are given clear instructions on safe dosages. If we don’t know we are taking a drug, we may believe it safe to take several tablets at once. This can produce an overdose which, if not treated properly, can be dangerous. Any drug, including Cialis, can be dangerous if you overdose. The FDA has therefore ordered the manufacturer of “ExtenZe” to cease selling their drug-enhanced product.

Choosing the Best Binoculars

 - by admin

Binoculars are no longer things which boring bird-watchers just sling around their necks waiting interminably to catch that elusive bird in flight. The binoculars today have evolved from merely enlarging distant images to being able to even capture those images and record and share them with family and friends. The meade travelview binoculars are particularly suited for travel and come in various models.

Some give pictures like from a 2.0 mega pixel camera and also lets you record videos on the binoculars. Popularly used for outdoor trips or concerts they are surprisingly very useful for industry purposes also as they provide that extra security feature. Some are specifically meant for nature-viewing and are ideal for beginners as well as experts.

The optical lenses are of very high-quality and give clear pictures and close focus. They also give good light in low-light conditions and are especially ideal when you require that extra half an hour at dawn or dusk to capture some moments from nature. The more advanced ones even have nitrogen removed from them thus making it virtually mist-proof also. For travel purposes these binoculars are the best.

While choosing binoculars you can opt for one which comes with an in-built digital camera. This is the latest offering from advanced technology and combines the convenience of a digital camera with the zoom of binoculars. All such binoculars have the ability to store images internally. These pictures can then be downloaded on to the computer with special software and a USB port and can be cropped, resized or adjusted just like with any digital camera pictures. They also allow 1 or 2 minutes of video (very handy especially during bird-watching). These binoculars also come in compact sizes making it easier to carry them around.

For astronomers a telescope which has good quality optics is essential for gazing into the sky at night. Many mounts and filters are available together with the telescopes suiting all types of budgets and needs.

Compact binoculars are the answer to the prayers of those who would love to view distant objects at a closer range but who dread lugging around a heavy ton especially during travel. They are portable, handy and lightweight enough to be carried around with ease. A compact binocular is actually two small telescope linked together and each has a small objective lens, an exit pupil and an eyepiece. They generally come with rubber padding and can be folded into very small sizes.

Tasco, ncstar, oberwerk all offer tremendous scope in binoculars and are big on quality. The 10×25 binoculars have a wide view of the field and are very popular.

Binoculars come in useful in many different situations and are handy to possess.

Top Auto Insurance Myths Debunked

 - by admin

Some research indicates that America is one of the most uninsured countries in the world when it comes to auto insurance, and one of the main reasons this is lies in how expensive auto insurance is these days. The fact is that America is in a recession, and many Americans can barely put food on the table, never mind consider premiums on an insurance policy. But we need a car to get to work, and so the uninsured issue rises. Unfortunately a lot of those uninsured Americans aren’t getting the required coverage due to a series of insurance myths that perpetuate the industry. Here we are going to banish those myths, so that you can get the insurance you need in your budget, to safely protect your family when you are on the road.

Myth 1: Complete collision coverage will still protect me in the event of hail or theft.
FALSE. A lot of people know the basic difference between liability and collision coverage, but they make the mistake of assuming that collision coverage covers everything that liability insurance doesn’t. This is not the case. Collision covers only your end of expenses in the event of an accident for which you are at fault, and covers nothing else. If your car is stolen, damaged by weather vandalism, you will need comprehensive insurance if you don’t want to be out of pocket.

Myth 2: I don’t have to cover liability insurance if I don’t want to.
DEPENDS. Most of the states in America do require liability insurance, but liability laws from state to state are changing, so there may be a chance you don’t need liability insurance. However, not getting it will not mean anything to you until you are involved in an accident for which you are found at fault, as you are then put in the line of risk where you could be sued for ALL damages as a result.

Myth 3: If my friend gets in an accident in my car then their insurance will cover everything.
FALSE. In most cases this depends on the individual policy’s, who is at fault in the accident, and the discretion of the insurance company, however most insurance companies will not take kindly to incidents of this nature. The other driver involved in the accident may have voluntary excess coverage on their car, and this may sort things out, but if they don’t, your insurance will be the one responsible. Your friend’s insurance does not cover your vehicle, it only covers theirs. This is one reason why loaning your vehicle is a risky move to make, as your insurance score may even be affected if a car accident happens and you were not behind the wheel of the insured car. Your driving record won’t be, but you will still see hikes in insurance down the road as a result.

Myth 4: I live in a no-fault insurance state, so if I’m not at fault, that accident last year won’t affect my insurance rates.
FALSE. Any claim on your insurance record will be a mark against your current score, even if the insurance company never paid anything out on your behalf. All no fault insurance means is that your insurance company will pay the damages regardless of who caused the accident.

These are just a few of the top myths in the car insurance industry that are keeping people from getting the right coverage for their car insurance. If you’ve been hesitating on getting insurance for reasons such as this, the only way you can get around it is to shop around.
